Hey, and welcome to another back alley of Obsessed with Pretty.
This page explains a bit about my skin type, and any determining factors when it comes to testing new products and any reviews I have posted. Bare in mind that everyone has different skin, and reacts differently with each product, so what works well for me, may not work as good for you, and vice versa. As with everything on the internet, do your own research on products, and preform your own testing to find what best works for you.
So a little bit about my skin:
Since I was about 9 – 10 years old prior to puberty – I started to notice a few bumps here and there over my face. I never really took any notice as I didn’t really care at that point. My skin kind of blew out of proportion when I was a year 10 in High School (age 13-14). It was very hard to deal with, I suffered with severe acne over my cheeks, forehead, nose and chin. Thankfully I was very focused on my studies and my sport endeavors at that time that it never really took a huge toll on my self esteem, until I was about 16, after suffering with the acne for about 3-4 years – Mum kept saying “it’s just a phase, you’ll grow out of it” – and even in my early Twenties I’m still dealing with this “phase”. I struggle with occasional breakouts especially when Aunt Flo is about to hit town, as shown to the right – up close and personal, otherwise my skin tends to be more as described below.
Skin Type: Oily/Dehydrated/Sensitive/Acne Prone
- Enlarged pores and produces oil mostly in t-zone
- Breaks out from heavy oils or pore-clogging ingredients
- Skin that becomes red and flushes easily, gets tight and irritated by harsh products
- Consistent blemishes and cysts (several new blemishes a week)
- Clogged pores and blackheads
- Post-blemish red/dark scars that linger
Now you have an idea about my skin type, and what I struggle with regarding my skin. My main concerns are mostly my large pores, pitted scaring, and hyper-pigmentation. So these tend to be the main focus when I’m choosing skincare and makeup products for my face.
In regards to my long body, I tend to have very dry skin, that seems to lack luster so I tend to always use super moisturizing products for my body, that nourish and hydrate my long limbs.
So that’s a breakdown of my skin, (fore)head to toe.
Thanks for checking in today, I appreciate your time.
